Book Recovery and Rehabilitation Services for Libraries and Archives

Our recovery methods are safe, reliable, and cost-effective

Over the past fifteen years, libraries and institutional archives have used a variety of Document Reprocessors' services to successfully recover and rehabilitate their water-damaged book and document collections. Major library jobs include Stanford University, the Los Angeles Public Library, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and others.

We have also used vacuum freeze-drying to treat smaller numbers of wet materials caused by floods or mechanical failures from institutions such as the Houston Public Library, the Chicago Historical Society, Loyola University Library, Santa Cruz Law Library, American University Library, the Allen County Library in Ft. Wayne, and many others.

As a result of this extensive experience working closely with libraries and archives, we have developed considerable expertise in the safe handling of wet paper materials and in the use of vacuum freeze-drying technology to produce a properly dried book or document. Our methods are safe, reliable, and very cost-effective.

In order to accomplish vacuum freeze-drying for many items at once in a reliable and reproducible manner, we have assembled, at considerable cost, the most advanced technical equipment in the field and have trained recovery teams that are sensitive to library and archive materials and can handle them safely.

In addition to vacuum freeze-drying of paper-based materials, we offer air and vacuum drying of other material formats and a variety of rehabilitation services for all formats. All of these are listed below and can greatly facilitate the timely recovery and rehabilitation of your water-damaged collections. Our goal is to help you get your collection materials back on the shelf as fast as possible, in good condition, and at a reasonable cost.
